Patina pieces are very special, the process is just on the surface of the metal. To preserve this unique surface, they get coated with a clear sealant. That being said, please avoid abrasive products, water and rubbing.

Always remove before showering, swimming, working out, sleeping or doing anything that involves water coming into contact with the metal surfaces. Metal will naturally tarnish over time.

Polished brass however is slightly different. It has been polished to a high shine, but will also tarnish over time. Try to avoid water, chemicals (bleach, sunscreen, perfumes) these may cause the brass to oxidize faster. You may use a polishing cloth, or a light abrasive to bring back its luster. The more you wear your polished brass, the natural oils in your skin will delay the tarnish process.
